What Do You Really Want? A Strong Body or a Strong Purpose?
Hey, let’s be real for a second. Why do you train? Like, really—why do you wake up early, hit the gym after work, push through soreness, and keep coming back for more? Is it just to look good in the mirror? Or is there something deeper driving you?
I’ve seen a lot of athletes come and go. Some chase abs, some want to lift heavier, and others just want to feel confident in their own skin. And while those are great reasons to start, they’re often not enough to keep going.
Looks Fade, But Purpose Lasts
Don’t get me wrong—wanting to look good is totally valid. But what happens when you don’t see results right away? Or when life gets busy, and motivation fades? That’s when your "why" becomes everything.
Maybe your real goal isn’t just abs. Maybe it’s being strong enough to play with your kids without getting winded. Maybe it’s staying healthy so you can be around for your wife, your parents, or your future self. Maybe you love the feeling of pushing your limits in CrossFit, HYROX, or any sport you’re passionate about.
Whatever it is, your why has to be stronger than your excuses.
Stop & Think—Why Are You Really Doing This?
Take a moment to ask yourself:
👉 What’s driving me?
👉 Will my reason keep me going when motivation fades?
👉 Am I training for something bigger than just looks?
If your why is strong enough, you’ll show up even when it’s tough. You’ll train not because you have to, but because you want to—because it’s part of who you are.
So tell me—what’s your why? Drop it in the comments, and let’s talk about it.
